Favorite Halloween rituals......

I have this thing I do every year; my girlfriends and I use to get together and perform the same ritual and now we have all moved away and we continue it with our children. First off the huge bowl of candy sits by the door, we put on our favorite costume, a huge bowl of popcorn and some drinks (usually orange martinis or orange margaritas - hey we're from Texas so we can make a margarita any color)

The movie list is an ever evolving one but a few have been there each year since we were kids:

Halloween I or II
The Fog
Night of the Living Dead (or a zombie movie, usually Romero directed)
The Entity or The Exorcist (we switch each year)
An American Werewolf in London
The Ugly (we added in 2000)
One old cheesy horror flick one of us was able to get a copy of (blood beach was great fun when we got to watch that again)
One new Japanese horror flick each year
The current years fav horror flick

We generally bake and cook while the movies play in the background. Occasionally we play a game and watch the movie. But no matter what happens, horror movies play all day (or from the time we get home till bedtime).

I have gotten to where I put these movies in the Halloween box so won't watch them all year. For horror fans, its great fun to watch old horror flicks, classic horror flicks, new ones, foreign ones and it's a way to expand on the horror you see. We have found some great foreign horror flicks this way.

If you have any Halloween traditions you want to share feel free.......

I put an (s) on movie because I can't narrow down to just one horror movie that embodies all that I love in a horror movie.

Share your favorite horror flicks and tell why.
